  • GUYS. I WILL BE PLAYING GUILD WARS 2 IN EXACTLY HALF AN HOUR! Or at least attempting to login amidst the massive logjam login-fest :P
  • Man, I hope these Russians I see in my footprints aren't reading my blog for an idea of what most Americans are like, because I'm weird.
  • I know this is a tough day for Summer and Jim, and I hope they can find consolation for (and despite) the distance through one another.

  • So much is happening!! (EDIT: Grades are in!!)

Hi Xanga-folk! I feel like I neglect you guys a lot. Or rather, I feel like it looks like I do, since I actually read Xanga posts on a daily basis...but whatever. I'm already off on a tangent. Some truly awesome things are happening in my life, and I totally need to share them ^_^

First, I GET TO PLAY THE GUILD WARS 2 BETA WEEKENDS! I'm pretty stoked about this, and come to find out yesterday, they're doing a random stress test on their servers this Monday, and I GET TO PLAY AGAIN! QuantumStorm, I don't know if you read my blog...at all (?)...but you're into gaming! And I know you're a pretty devoted player of EVE Online, (which is a spectacular game, but it costs money that I don't have :P), but you should totally play GW2! It's...it's just SO EPIC. And y'know, if you want to join my guild, that'd be cool too. Precipice of Paradise [PoP] is our name. We're cool. And GET THIS: no monthly fees! Yep! Free to play! Okay, I'm on a rant now, so I'm gonna stop, because I have more news.

I'M GRADUATING IN TWO DAYS!!!! With a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics!!! I'm officially a Mathematician laughing And I'll have documents to prove it! Oh, by the way, just a word of advice to anyone taking a high-level Statistics class: It is certainly *possible* to save the majority of your classwork until the end of the semester if your professor doesn't give deadlines, but I can assure you, it is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE plan. I started having Stats dreams. Which was pretty much the last refuge I had from the most evil branch of mathematics to ever be created. And it got invaded. So, bottom line, spread out your exposure to statistics. It's dangerous stuff, man. Also, a bit of a frustrating side-note, but grades were supposed to be posted today. They're not posted. *sigh* I suppose I'm just a teensy bit impatient right now.

Okay, last but not least, and actually the BIGGEST news I have today: I'M MOVING TO WASHINGTON IN TWO WEEKS TO BE WITH MY LADY!!! TWO WEEKS, and I'll be living in another state! For the rest of my life, I hope. Missouri is often lame. OFTEN. There are only three reasons you should ever come to Missouri: If your family is here, if you want the best barbecue on the face of the earth, or it's on the way to another, cooler state. Like Colorado. Colorado is an awesome, awesome state. Missouri should go talk to Colorado and get some pointers. Man, I'm all about the tangents today aren't I? But you know what? Tangents are dead useful in geometry, and I feel like they get a bad rap, because people go off on them so much, and other people don't like that. OH DANG. I THOUGHT I WAS ON A TANGENT, BUT I'M BACK ON MATH. DUDES. I'M ON A SECANT. Also, I'm a total nerd, and if you're still reading, then, my friends and dear readers:

I'm as surprised as you! I didn't think it was possible.

You're welcome :) Don't thank me, though. Thank Randall Munroe, author of the amazing webcomic xkcd.

Anyway, I think that's everything major that's going on lately :) Also, I think I might be going to see Lights in September with Amelia! I'm pretty excited about that too, but I'll have to make sure it fits into her schedule, too.

    Until next time, Xangans!

    -Kurt

EDIT: I got my final grade in the class! It was a B, and I was kinda sorta hoping it was an A, but I'm totally happy with a B. It's pretty lovely :) That is all!

  • Update!!

Okay, so I'm terrible about posting on this blog, but I think it's turning into a blog about Amelia and I, lol.

So I'm in my last semester of school, taking just one class! Unfortunately, it's a Stats class...oh well. Need it to graduate. I'm still making donuts at Hy-Vee, but I'm looking for jobs in Washington, and I've applied to their education certification program at CWU, where Amelia goes. Also, I have my own place now! It's quite cozy happy

Now for the real reason I'm blogging: Amelia will be here in just under 36 hours!!!! AHHH!! I'm unbelievably excited laughing And what's more, I'm going to have my very first Xanga meetup! Amelia and I are meeting jess_i_cuh and her boyfriend Charlie in Branson for a day of awesomeness at Silver Dollar City! It's going to be like a day-long double date silly

Expect to see some pictures of Amelia's visit in the next couple of weeks, if not here, then probably on her Xanga silly

That's all I can think of for now; mainly, I'm just too darn excited to sit down and write a proper blog post!

  • I MET LIGHTS

I don't have time to make a full post tonight, but I met #Lights at her concert in Lawrence, KS on October 30th!!! And being aware of the "pics or it didn't happen" rule on teh Interwebs, here you go:

Holy cannoli! It actually happened! It wasn't a dream laughing

That was definitely on my top three most glorious moments of my life (Number one was the day I met Amelia, of course!).

More about this later, and some videos!

    Peace!

About Me

  • I'm a bit of a nerd, currently majoring in Mathematics, which is something that I very much enjoy. It's crazy, I know. I had two head injuries before I was ten, so that may have something to do with it...just kidding! I'm pretty sure I would have enjoyed math, head trauma or no. I'm an irrepressible optimist, and hope is the driving emotion behind my actions. I'm addicted to tea, though some might prefer to use the term obsessed. I think every aspect of my life needs to be in balance. I often have my own very unique take on life, the universe, and everything, to which the answer is, of course, forty-two. Reading is one of my favorite things. If I find a book I like, I can finish it in a day or two, and then read it again to catch the things I missed the first time. The Harry Potter series isn't everything, but it's definitely right up there with oxygen. I love my beautiful, intelligent girlfriend Amelia (MiaJoyTheWriter), and I'm so grateful to have her!!
